Terms of Service
These terms govern use of GitBids ("the Service"), operated by the site operator. By using the Service you agree to them.
1. What the Service is
The Service publishes a leaderboard of open source projects ordered solely by the total amount of money contributed toward each project's placement. Placement is paid. It is not a ranking of quality, security, suitability or popularity, is not editorially reviewed, and is not a recommendation or endorsement of any listed project.
2. No affiliation with listed projects
Projects are listed based on public repository information. A listing does not imply any relationship between the Service and the project, its maintainers, or its contributors. Anyone may bid on any project, including one they have nothing to do with, so a listing says nothing about who placed it. Project names, descriptions and logos remain the property of their respective owners.
3. Bids
- A bid is a payment in US dollars for placement on the leaderboard. There are no accounts and no stored balance — you pay for a specific bid on a specific project.
- Bids are final, permanent and non-refundable. They cannot be reversed, reduced, moved to another project, or reclaimed.
- Bids are cumulative. Paying again adds to a project's total rather than replacing it, and adding money to one project never reduces another's total.
- All funds are received and retained by the operator. No portion is paid to any listed project or maintainer.
- Bidding on a project confers no ownership, no rights over the project, no guarantee of any particular position, and no guarantee that a position will be retained.
- Position is determined when the payment settles, not when it is quoted. The board can move while a payment is in flight.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not submit projects that are not open source licensed.
- Do not attempt to inflate click counts or visitor counts by any means.
- Do not use the Service to harass a project, its maintainers, or its users.
- Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls.
5. Removal
The operator may remove any listing at any time, for any reason. Anyone with a legitimate interest in a listed project may request its removal by contacting support@unchainedlabs.dev; requests from a project's maintainers are always honoured. Removal does not entitle any bidder to a refund, except where the payment settled against a listing that had already been taken down — see the refund policy.
6. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the total amount you paid to the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, and your statutory rights are unaffected.
7. Changes and contact
These terms may change; material changes will be posted here. Questions: support@unchainedlabs.dev.
